This picture and poetry move me to thinking about minimalism and the importance of “letting go” fears, clutter, and negativism, so as to allow love to lead one along a path of gratitude and giving. The beauty of the fog and orange autumn leaf lined lane as offered in Guru Genie’s post cause me to make a connection to what I observed this morning on my coffee run and drive into school. By the light of a super moon, I navigated I-80 construction and witnessed dramatic color-changing clouds turn from a fleeting vivid pink, to pale orange, to soft yellows and grays, to clothesline white. Below this drop ceiling scenery, I watched cattle grazing in a foggy field as water vapor rose from the Weber River. I thought of one of my students exclaiming, “It’s the WATER CYCLE!” In the beauty of Summit County I zoomed along, wondering on those beauvine that wandered in the mist, grazing with a perfect calm focus, and enjoying the sweetness of meadow gold grass. I would like to feel as at peace as those cows are. Sometimes I am. Perhaps I will post a hazy grazy cow and cloud picture and write some verse one day soon.
