Gratitude (for you)

“Where all else fails, gratitude prevails.  Brings us closer to what is most important: God, our truest self, the ones we love, …..or those whom we most want to love…even those who hate, and despise us.  A holy emotion, a two step dance,  a step closer in thanking and in growing and mending hearts. In taking the lead, or in following blindly, trusting.  A step back in taking cue and opening up to vulnerability, to encounter, and to feel.  Then on again in climbing up from stumblings and walking toward the light of joy and healing.

A give and a take.  A make or break.  The key to love.  The first and final prayer both in and of toddlerhood and lifes most cruel, and aged childhood, and in between. Again.  Amen to gratitude. One can’t pretend it isn’t true and truly be encircled by love and light.  Known is that it can be grown and harvested.  The law of the harvest.  The Law of attraction produces and directs  it in Academy Awards.  It is the winner of all winners and audio church sermons. Gratitude.

If we could not utter any  words but  “Thank You,”  it would still be our love language.  Even if we had a stroke and in relearning we could only master sounds and syllables to utter these two words…..”Thank you,” it  would be enough.  Ask the Dred Pirate Scott, Wesley.  “As you wish.” All the great ones know this.  The mystics.  Jesus.  Paul, the apostle.  I think we know it too.  Only we forget in thinking only of ourselves.  Oh to remember…….to remember always.   Please and Thank you …..to helping  me to remember this always.  In remembering, the soul no longer breathes its weak complaints, it flies, submits to pain and humbling with open arms rejoicing.  Gratitude…..a miracle in the making.   A grace of God.   A ‘high five” in the high courts singing    “Teach me how to Jimmer.”
