Strange Dreams by Heidi Robertson 6/26/2013
Had a dream that we were at a musical performance, much like a family run dinner theater. Opening night. You were seated to my right, my husband on your right. The show was just about to begin, but Mark had already fallen fast asleep and was lounging where the theater seats had turned into a blurry bench or daybed. You took my hand and asked me to run your carousel, the school merry-go-round. I hesitated, questioning whether I would be stepping on Ray or Tony’s toes. You said no to them and yes to me. I went for concessions. Cotton candy and a giant fountain drink. The cup was huge and yet it would not hold a thing. Gave up on drinks and surrendered to Act II. There was no ending because the dream just ended. I was left awake and wondering as you do with dreams.
