Hiking Timp

Cascade Spings                by Heidi Robertson    July 12, 2013

Mrs. S. goes Allwest

Plays my best washboard

Seven bumpy miles on a side by side

Farwelling fareways

Pimp our ride to spring fed flush toilets

Going green

Hide and seek with walkies

Talking fauna and flora

Loud obnoxious walking stick

Blow by bikers

Please Slow Down

Mama has twin spotted fawns

Pogo sticks

Jump like Brown trout doing the three step

No one parks up top where

Thompson mountain grapes hangout

Singing Nuthatch, Finch, Dippers chirp

Meet at the footbridge

Fifteen minutes to anticipation

Cascading beauty underfoot

Extra hike to overlook

Chipmunks usher

mistake amazing for a pile of branches

Hooded monks render last rites

Read Assassin’s creed

Do not eat the purple flowers

the eucharist with Nacho

the Lord’s chips

We could spend hours here in the hills of Hidalgo

if  we weren’t so hungry for hiking

Among fractured limestone miracles

cold and coveting a lapswim

Remembering Sedona

Keeping summer friends

at Cascade Springs

About hrobertson2013

“Each man ( and mermaid) will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land”. Isa 32:2 NIV Warning: The author of this blog is not an ordinary individual. Even Mermaids need a rest from all that's real and grown up. Welcome to the wonder of blog. Come be audience to all that's wet and wild in her stories, poems and thoughts. Instructor by day, super hero by night, and mystical mermaid by summer. Whenever she has the fortune of diving into a pond, reservoir, or mountain waterfall, you'll find her there swimming, and singing songs of life.
