Improvising Gentle Whisperings by Heidi Robertson 7/19/2013
(for M. Devey)
When everything I thought I’d do fell through
I improvised and followed gentler whisperings
Stopped angling with pool sticks
Quit crunching numbers, figuring geometry
And took a different cue
To someone not inside my head
“I am here for you,” my heart said.
asking what it is she needed in my soul
As she lined up the eight ball
racked up complaints and pain
I plucked from the right corner pocket
Saying, “Come on, I’ll help you.”
As I could see it…
The distance from where she was resonating and where she ought to be
was ACTION….and so I did a simple service.
“It won’t take long at all.”
Golden rule stick on display, tossed old folder files away
And so we thinned the coin-size heriloom apple trees
made up lost miles
Crossed sticky asphalt parking lots to feed a hungry frog mouth
Recycling with Insa and Alina Eydel
dog smiles and cat laughs
in a kind of yin yang trance
embracing endless time and space in less than thirty minutes
Then after that my friend was in a different place
Inheriting a handy piece of furniture
from Super Lynn
She didn’t even have to ask the boss for money
Here a bit less stressed.
Now where to find her missing chairs and milk tops?
Pop! I’m feeling great!
Today an heir to Power and to love
a kind of Aslan Narnian race
Remembering I ‘m beautiful for Him and God above
Dance stepping friendship with stepped on feet
Made room for growth and better harvest…
