About the Author…..

Warning: The author of this blog is not an ordinary creature.

Teaching in the public school system is engaging and rewarding for Fourth Grade teacher, Heidi Robertson. While she is charged with the task of molding young minds in the ways of the common core, she is still careful to “see” and provide opportunities to encourage and integrate writing and the arts into her students daily rigor. Modeling creative writing and best practices with great passion in and out of the classroom, Robertson reaches an audience both young and more practiced. Because teacher creatures need a rest from all that’s real and grown up too, even when surrounded by the best dreamers, children.

So welcome to the wonder of the blog. Come give audience to all that’s wet and wild in her poems and thoughts. Instructor by day, super hero by night, and mystical mermaid by summer. Whenever she has the fortune of diving into a pond, reservoir, or mountain waterfall, you’ll find her there swimming in rhythm, rhyme and meter, singing the songs of life.

Dare to dip into this watery world. Turn and swirl in your senses. Leave daily cares behind and come play awhile outside. Quench your thirst and splash in cool clear water. Leapfrog soggy toadstools. Seal and otter with a merdaughter. Play hide and seek with fairies ‘neath spongy mushrooms. Sun on giant lilly pads. Pine on rainbow castle towers. Leave behind your tired mind. Abide deep waters of this mystical merworld. Merhaps you’ll chose to stay, if it’s in your nature.
